Undoubtedly the tie of the round Terry Elliott Vs Andy Holland (providing he has/does get past Brian moss)
This would have been many people's dream Final, and as such a pity the clash has come so early.
Daresay both players rue the draw and would have prefered to play each other over a longer distance than the best of 3 still aplying to last 16 matches.
Some other juicy ties, particularly Youssef Vs Micky Turner |

Brian Moss did give me a bye and said he had made you aware of this, i don't mind playing him still if he's had a change of mind. |

I can't understand people conceeding walkovers at this stage of the comp. and I think its particularly galling for those knocked out in previous rounds, in this case Dave Wettner, although beaten fairly & squarely 2-0 on the night by Glasses, if you were going to drop out without playing next match, surely the best thing would have been to let Dave go through.
Maybe lightning wouldn't strike twice in the same comp, but you could at least keep Dutch honest and make him fight his way through like anyone else.
And don't let that Barking's No.1 tag scare you, in reality he's not even the Jewels No.1, that honour goes to Face, who'll no doubt be celebrating the fact tonight in the usual way |

Be aware that the Draw for Q/Fs is taking place on the night of Last 16, and those matches are being played later this month on 22nd. Matches will definately not be allowed to overlap rounds, so you only have a couple of weeks to get it played. |

My game is not even in the at z level at the moment but as long as i can get it up to my C game would be expecting a comfortable win . Must admit thought the draw was very kind to me unlike yourself who must be thinking its your worst nightmare come true. What is your record against me Dutchy played x amount won 0 springs to mind. |

Have to admit Terry, on the 3/4 occasions we've played you do have the better record, last time we played was when you conceded in the middle of the game though so i'm getting better |

Oh yeh sorry Dutch you did beat me over 1 frame on a wednesday night guess thats the limit of your competetive matches. Do recall last time we played a real competetive match think i won 6-0 in about 30 minutes and didnt you pick your very own world rules for us to play. Must admit was a bit pissed that you managed to get 0. |

Im sorry that I dropped out of the singles. I would have loved to carry on as I've never got this far before in the singles. And I apologise to Dave Wettner. But Im sorry captzed but you dont know the full reasons behind my decision. May I also point out that I have not even turned up to play for my team on a Wednesday night either and also the Monday night Havering league for at least a month or so.
Its also not because Im playing badly either or scared of playing Dutchy. In fact I have beaten Dutchy on a few occassions and this season when I have played on a Wednesday night for the DFC I have lost only once in about 15 matches.
I have personal reasons for not playing at the moment and I hope you respect this. Also there is more important things than a game of pool for me at this moment of time. |

As you say Glasses I don't know your circumstances and reasons, and its really none of my business. Just a shame that after beating a good player like Dave Wettner 2-0, and with the prospect of an easier game to follow, you've had to conceed.
Still after beating Dutch you would have come up against El Tel, and no disrespect intended, but that would have been the end of your run. This boys the real deal, I suspect he's only playing for the Jewels to put himself in the shop window so to speak, to let the real contenders know he's still alive and playing well. Reckon he'll just sit back over the closed season and weigh up the offers that come in. Think Greatwhite's already sent his wishlist to Santa, he's usually sends it around April time, and guess who's name's top? Well maybe 2nd after Pablo.
Oh & btw Dutchy, lets have notice of when the mismatch between you & tournement favourite El Tel is gonna happen (unless it is early on Q/Fs night) I want witnesses, wouldn't want you getting up to your old mindgame tricks again. The poor lad hardly dare put his cue down again for at least 6 months after your last encounter.
We all know you only signed him up because you didn't want to play against him.
As Organiser & Singles Secretary I must, of course, remain strictly neutral at all times, but come on let's be serious, to save admin time Tel, I've pencilled your name in the Q/Fs draw, if we can get you that Joe Jnr next time the S/F & Final should be plain sailing. |
